Neutral Density Filters

Northwich town centre on a busy Saturday.  The use of a low angle tripod, wide angle lens and Neutral Density Filter all allow for a slow shutter speed to loose the hussle and bustle of shoppers walking past


Always a favourite, but try and get some foreground in, like these posts marking out the way across an estuary.

Slow the shutter

Use a tripod and then a low shutter speed to get the impression of flowing waterr


Whilst smartphones allow you to take panoramic photos, with DSLR better results can be obtained by stitching several images together in post-processing software. 

Blue Hour

The blue hour is the period of twilight in the morning or evening, when the Sun is at a significant depth below the horizon and residual, indirect sunlight takes on a predominantly blue shade.  It provides some wonderful and interesting photography opportunities
